| A Principal is
responsible for the day-to-day running of the school. They are the
instructional leader for their campus and therefore directly
accountable for the TAKS scores of all their students. In addition, to
managing the staff they also are where the teachers turn when they
need help with students. In a small school, such as Westbrook, the
principal attends most functions and is seldom home. In Westbrook, the
principal is also the Athletic Director, adding even more duties. Many
administrators do not have this level of commitment and leave after a
couple of years. Mr. Rowell now has ten years in at Westbrook. Come home to
