Divide the composite figure into shapes you know how to find the area of. Find the area of each of those figures and add those areas together to find the total area of the composite figure.
Helpful formulas:
Area of a Rectangle: length x width
Area of a Triangle: base x height divided by 2
Area of a Trapezoid: (base 1 + base 2) x height divided by 2
Area of Circle: pi x radius squared
Area of Semicircle: area of circle divided by 2
Area of Quarter Circle: area of circle divided by 4
