2022-2023 GOALS
MISSION: The mission of Westbrook Independent School District is to prepare students with the necessary skill to be pro-active, pro-social, productive, lifetime learners by providing a positive, nurturing environment.
VISION: WISD will be led by a Team of 8 committed to excellence working together to provide a strong educational and extra-curricular experience for the well-being of all students.
Board Priority 1: Teaching and Learning |
WISD will challenge students to perform at their highest potential through engaging teaching and learning from highly qualified staff with multiple opportunities to pursue occupational success beyond the classroom. |

● WISD will improve Student Performance in Domain I by increasing the District Average of Approaches, Meets, and Masters Grade Level. ● WISD 3rd grade students that score “Meets” grade level or above on STAAR Reading will increase from 21% to 45% by June 2026. WISD 3rd grade students that score “Meets” grade level or above on STAAR Math will increase from 32% to 49% by June 2024. ● WISD will maintain a 100% graduation rate and WISD graduates that meet the criteria for College, Career, and Military Readiness will increase from 70% to 80% by August 2024. ● All students will be taught by highly qualified teachers, with an emphasis on retaining quality personnel to impact 21st century learning and student success. |

Board Priority 2: Communication and Community Engagement |
WISD will promote a positive culture throughout the community encouraging feedback and input from all stakeholders. |

● WISD will foster high levels of communication both within and beyond the classroom walls. ● WISD will provide multiple opportunities for parent and community engagement. |

Board Priority 3: Safety and Security |
WISD is committed to providing the highest standards of safety and security for its students and staff. |

● WISD will continue to provide a safe learning environment for all students with an emphasis placed on student safety and security. We will have regular discussions on school safety. ● All students will be educated in learning environments that are safe, drug free, and conducive to learning. Character Education Programs will be consistently provided for our students as a part of our providing a good learning environment. |

Board Priority 4: Finance, Facilities, and Future Growth |
WISD will protect the long-term financial integrity of the district including improving/maintaining all facilities and planning for future needs. |

● Strong and Respected Extra-Curricular Programs and Facilities. ● Continued overall facilities analysis. ● District Financial Efficiency. ● Continued efforts to maintain enrollment between 250-280 students. |
