Hello! My name is Vickie Bawcum. I am the Kindergarten teacher and so excited for a new year! Last year was my first year back in kindergarten after teaching 1st grade for 3 years. It is my 16th year to teach at Westbrook and what a blessing it is.
My first 3 years here at Westbrook, I taught our pre-k program and then a couple of years in 2nd and 3rd and then
2 years of kindergarten.
Before moving back to West Texas I taught 3rd grade for 4 years with Garland ISD in the Dallas metroplex. I grew up in Fluvanna and graduated high school from Snyder High School. I love being back in West Texas.
I have 3 sons Bradley, Travis, and Trent. Brad is the Fire Marshall at Texas Tech His wife Candace is a teacher in Wolfforth. They have given me three precious grandchildren, Jace, David, and Madisyn. Both Travis and Trent are Texas Tech graduates. Travis and his wife Megan live and work in DFW along with my grandson, Mitchell. Travis is an environmental manger with AT&T and Megan works for a child advocate organization. My youngest son Trent and his wife Carly along with my granddaughter Briar and youngest grandson Bruce live in Dallas also. He is a radiologist in Dallas and Carly works for Six Flags Corporate offices.
