Medication Info

If your child needs to take a medication at school or have an "as needed" medication at school, the parent must bring it to the front office and sign the medication in with the school nurse. The medication will be administered following the instructions on prescription label unless their doctor orders otherwise and we have documentation of said order.

If your child has an emergency medication, such as an epinephrine pen, you must bring an action plan that has been filled out and signed by their doctor. If you would like your child to carry the epinephrine pen with hem during the day, their doctor's permission is required along with having to demonstrate to the school nurse that they know how to administer the medication.

If your child needs to take a daily medication in the morning, it is advised that the medication is given at home prior to coming to school. Also, if the child has a prescribed medication that needs to be taken three times a day, such as an antibiotic, the medication can still be taken at home.

If there are any questions, don't hesitate to call the school and ask for the Nurse Creek!
